The long hair is enough to clue Chie in to the fact it wasn't the teenager she knew before hand. It doesn't damper some of the relief she's feeling. Its good to see him.
"I think I could ask you the same questions." She managed quietly back, walking forward. She took in the scars in turn. The glowing eyes go unnoticed as of now. She knows she's probably a mess, scarring under her eyes likely the most obvious thing next to the strange gait she has from her leg. "You're not the same Yu I knew-?"
That was definitely an understatement, and part of him wishes he could heal some of those scars or ask what happened to her leg. Despite this, however, he finds it in himself to answer.
"No, more than likely. There always were a multitude of possibilities, even before..." Well, how these scars he has came into being a thing. How to put the things he's witnessed to words he isn't sure of. One thing he is sure of is this, however. "Even so, it's good to see a friendly face again."
"Yeah- yeah it is." She answers in turn, walking over to Yu. Relief still palatable on her features, even if its not the one she knew, it's Yu. She's glad to reach a hand out towards Yu to make sure he's solid and real. She needs the conformation if anything.
He offers his own hand, willingly giving that confirmation to her. Though he wondered how it would exactly work - if he was only a soul here in this desolate wasteland.
"...Because there's nothing left." Though he had a feeling that would raise more alarms than anything, he had to be honest. Even if the truth was... not a pleasant thing to behold. "Not because of our actions, or anyone else's. It's... a long story."
Her hand doesn't phase through his, its solid. Chie's hand is warm in his. She's alive, very much alive in a strange land. The teenager's relief lasts thanks to the skin to skin contact. Seeing someone after that crash was more than Chie ever expected.
Chie's expression darkens at his words, glancing away. Her brows knit together unhappily. "...I have the time. You can tell me."

Especially Chie's.
