[He'd been busy since the spring break, having already picked up a few part-time jobs and moved into an apartment on his own in Iwatodai after transferring to Gekkoukan. Much as he would love to return to Inaba long-term, he still had a hard time facing everyone with the decisions he'd made in a world they had no recollection over. That, and he wasn't certain how he would explain to his uncle or his distant parents why these strange people who definitely didn't seem to be from around here would keep popping up in such a small, rural town.
The jobs would help him get by for now, at least - along with whatever yen he'd saved from their adventures inside the TV. Plus, it meant that if anything happened, he was always just a train away.

Eyebrow raised, he carefully knelt down in an effort to avoid dropping his bag as he picked up the small seashell, turning it in his hand gingerly as though it would break if he did aught else.]

With a sigh he stood again, unlocking the door with his key before walking in - removing his shoes and slipping into his house slippers. He tried his best to avoid acting unnatural, placing his suitcase and uniform jacket on the small table of his tiny kitchen before pulling some ingredients out of the fridge for dinner - enough for two.
The door to the apartment, however, remained open - an extra pair of slippers left in the entryway for Xion to use.]
