You can keep trying to not tell them what's going on, but sooner or later they will find out. Whether it be from someone who'd know from the Tower, or a memory brought back from the darkness of dreams.

...Both. It's not just about the Tower... there's also what happened before that.
[Castle Oblivion and Xion. Those ten months that Sora spent sleeping. They know parts of the latter at least, have both met Roxas, they've all dealt with the Organization, but... there are things non of them remember because nobody but Riku (and in part Naminé) remembers.
