sob guess whose account finally expired
[She's tired. She's so tired. She fought a war for her worlds and her existence against Ruana already, and just finished a second war over the latter against Xemnas. Neither was easy. Both were great and terrible in their own right.
And now she'd have to do it all over again.
And what would this third war she was about to enter be about? Sure it was about reforging some "blade", probably something to do with Kingdom Hearts. But why? What did he want to do with it? Why did he want them for it? Why did she have to keep fighting?
She's so tired.]
Aqua... [She shakes her head. The ground was suddenly so very interesting right now.]
At home... nobody understands this. Nobody. They accept it, and me. They still care about me, but... they can't understand this. I'm not sure if they want to, I'm not sure if I want them to.
[Some of the things that happened in the Tower are the kind of things she wouldn't wish on her worst enemy.]
And the Tower... I can try... but some people...
[Light she thinks of Shion. Shion and his eighteen-something-fucking deaths in the Tower. Who had struggled with berserker problems when someone tried to hurt her. She thinks of her dad, who tried to tackle Ganondorf when he was torturing her, a year before he had adopted her, back when she was his rookie, not yet his daughter.]
I can't let them. This... this isn't their world. And they'll get hurt, even killed for my sake. And they'll die for real this time.
[Even as she treats her deaths in the tower with blasé carelessness, she's long since begun to realize how fragile they really were, now.
She's so tired.]
welcome to the club of expired accounts :C
Xion...
[Watching her young friend begin to dissolve into an exhausted emotional state, it's all Aqua can do to keep herself from being reminded of someone else - someone else who had that same tired, almost defeated look in their eyes.
'I'm asking you... as a friend...'
She can't help it, she pulls Xion in for another hug. The pain Xion must have gone through, the torment she must have seen...]
I'm so sorry.
[She just doesn't want to see her friend come to harm... and so long as a even a fragment of Xehanort remains...
... There was much work to be done. Not just in Xion's worlds, but hers as well.]

[This time, Xion doesn't really respond to the embrace much, beyond a slight lean into it. The touch grounds her, a little, though there's only so much comfort that can really be had.
She's three going on four. Anybody else would say she shouldn't have to deal with this. Xion doesn't quite have enough perspective of "normal" to agree, but even she wishes that she could have some time to just... be. With her friends, her family, everything. Get caught up in their messes, maybe. Meet their friends and family.
Her shoulders are shaking in Aqua's grip though, very slightly. She doesn't cry. A part of her wishes she could.
She doesn't lift her head at all when she finally speaks.]
What do I do?
[Xion no, don't just push past this like it's nothing-]

[Because girl, you need the break. Badly.]
When the time comes, Yen Sid will call for a Mark of Mastery exam.

How... how long?
[It's been a couple months already since the defeat of Xemnas. It's why she's had the time to work on devising a way of crossing universes without the Tower.
She has other questions too - like what was a Mark of Mastery exam. But those are... secondary, to her primary concern: how much time does she have?
She still hasn't really moved.]

[If she could, she'd be asking him that right now. But what was timeline-hopping and time travel until quite recently?]
Maybe half a year at most?
