[This is a plan that even Alphinaud can get behind. Goodness, they're agreeing on a lot today. Is the seventh astral era coming to an end this quickly?]

I do speak with Urianger on a semi-frequent basis. [He coughs lightly - clearing his throat, of course. He certainly isn't keeping track of his sister's ventures, nor is he becoming attached to the adventurers here. Absolutely not.] Our friend is a special case, indeed.

I but jest. [She waves off her smirk with a gesture of the hand.] Though when our fellow traveler expressed that you had a new outlook upon the realm, I can only think to credit their influence as a stalwart ally to bring about this development.

... perhaps. Had our friend not been discovered, it is possible I would not have seen near as much of Eorzea as I have.

[Alphinaud pauses, then clears his throat again, looking off toward the fireworks once more.]

Regardless, I am pleased to hear of your progress. Even if yours is a far more daunting task than mine.

[Diplomat is, by and far, a much safer position than dungeon delver. He has heard the tales of what lie awaiting below.]

[Never. She was about to say something witty in retort, however the prompt divergence of the topic at hand gave her a moment of pause.]

... Nor would mine own task proven nearly as fruitful.

[She glances away, focusing her attentions on the brilliant display above. The symbol of Dalamud in the center a rather more hefty reminder of that which was still left to go.]

Say what you will of how perilous a task it might be. We both know you were much better suited for diplomacy than I.

[Of which she does not envy him in the slightest, with how not just Ul'dah in political turmoil, but whispers from Coerthas were also coming in an increasing number as well.]

You may not be suited for diplomacy, sister, but you are going about it in your own way nonetheless. I cannot say I envy your task, but you are strong enough for it. I fear I would not have the same successes.

[Diplomacy itself is stressful enough. There are never two happy parties at the beginning of diplomatic discussions. It is a small wonder that fighting hasn't broken out before now, in some cases.]

... Ul'dah, especially, is a nightmare I wish not to repeat.

T'is but a small wonder that the disagreements have yet to cause even greater outbursts, no doubt due to the infrastructure of their society.

[A pause.]

Urianger mentioned the riot. It is good to see you hale and healthy.

I cannot blame the Ala Mhigans for feeling the way that they do. Being denied solace and basic comforts would be enough to dampen anyone's spirits, at the very least. But there are those that would seek to not only profit from this, but ignite the spark that lay dormant and smoldering for so long...

[The mention of the riots makes Alphinaud pause as well, eyes glancing away. Surely that hadn't been a note of concern?]

... I was injured, but I am no less deterred for it. I recovered quickly.
