ACTION.

① Zombies → It's the zombie apocalypse, lock and load!

ANGST.

⑯ Frozen → You are entirely helpless, frozen, to stop some kind of disaster.

...and somehow, he'd gotten completely turned around in the Shroud. Again. He'd never properly learned to navigate it, even when he'd grown up there, and his direction sense is hopeless.

One ear presses flat back against his head, irritated, as he looks around, then down at the map he has in his hands.]

[the south shroud was not somewhere she would often visit, but nostalgia called for her as she began crafting once more. a good source of boar skin was, after all, not far from the goblin hideaway south of quarrymill. the wood held both good and bad memories for her, as did the little outpost she dared not enter again.

though the sound of footsteps is not something that goes unnoticed, even as she diligently prepares a skin from a freshly-culled boar. judging by the footfalls, they were also uncertain as to where they were going. definitely not a child, either - their scent was unfamiliar.]

[it had started out well enough. Aqua couldn't remember the last time her home had seen this much activity, even well before the events leading up to her...prolonged vacation. but a party of this size and volume is a nice change, as odd as it may clash with her memories of the hall's silence and almost intimidating emptiness. bringing several new students and celebrating the revival of the Keyblade legacy is enough reason for a party like this, let alone a homecoming ten or more years overdue.

it was either Ven or Sora's idea - or maybe both - for the masks and formal dress. not that their identities were very well hidden, but the immediate rush of new and potential students clinging to and clustering around Aqua was something she could do without for an evening. (and...it feels really nice to dress up from time to time.)

being a teacher, she's vigilant even when she's not 'working'. so when a gang of students are grouped tightly around Naminé by the buffet, pestering her about her powers and story and clearly making her uncomfortable, Aqua swoops in without second thought.]

Excuse me.

[in one swift movement, Aqua's arm is around Naminé's shoulder, and she squeezes slightly to send a signal, smiling at the crowd all the while.]

I'm sorry to say that Naminé is needed over here with us for a moment. We'll bring her back soon.

without further ado, Aqua gracefully leads Naminé away, still firmly guiding her with that arm and chatting amiably about nothing until they both get far enough away and hidden behind a pillar. then Aqua lets out an almost uncharacteristically melodramatic sigh and smiles gently.]

[To even be back was something of a shock for her, yet when Sora had approached her about designing masks and things for the party... well, who was she to refuse? And it would have been rude not to attend... even if she simply just wanted to fade into the background and watch as everyone had their fun. Maybe even make sure none of the others added... something... to the punch.

Though what certainly felt like everyone pulling into conversations about their pasts and asking about her powers made her go pale as a sheet. No. No, no no no no. The amount of "do not want" over mentioning how she was, at best, a tool for several people for most of her life was not something she wanted to mention or relive.

The hand on her shoulder nearly made her jump a little, but when she looked up to see Aqua, part of her relaxed a little.]

Oh... okay. [She nods faintly, waving a little to her peers before willingly letting her be dragged to the side by one of their soon-to-be teachers. It was oddly easy enough to fall into a chat with her over almost nothing, a faint hint of what she supposes could be embarrassment crossing her face.]

Y-yes. [A bold-face lie if there ever was one.] It's just... being back here, hearing their stories when I...

[Her quiet voice trails off even more.]

Well. Two somethings - those two people in the dream that had called him 'Ven', and odd feeling it had stirred within him.

Who were those two? And why had they called him Ven? Who was Ven? Why had hearing that caused an odd, warm feeling to form under his confusion? Why had he been scared when they started to walk away?

Why had the looked so 'familiar'? The woman, he remembered vaguely from when he was four, but the man...?

'He kinda felt like Riku...' The same sort of presence, anyway. His voice had seemed really familiar, too, kind of like--

The man in the armor. His voice was almost the same as the guy that felt like Riku.

Could it...? ... ...

Someone needs to snap Sora out of his thoughts; it almost never ends well.]

[The whole celebration thing was a bit much for his taste, especially as he was trying to come to terms with what just happened. Axel Lea - he kept having to correct himself - summoning a Keyblade aside, the fact he was a Master now just wouldn't sink in.

But somewhere in that, he realized someone had gone quiet. Very quiet. That just wasn't right, and looking over in his best friend's direction, he can see why.

Cue him walking over, and very "lightly" flicking him on the back of the head.]

You know, usually I'm the one thinking too hard.

[All said with the smirk of a cocky teenager, and only some of the sass to go with it.]

Elidibus was not entirely sure how long he'd spent in this place, waiting for some opportunity to reconnect with the Void and find his way back home to resume his duties. It could have been hours, it could have been minutes. The most frustrating part of the entire ordeal was, simply, the realization that he was far from being in a place where he could possibly do his job. Surely Zodiark would be displeased at his sudden vanishing for an undetermined amount of time..

There was some strange comfort to be had, however, in the idle ripples and echoes of urban frustration and decay. He slowly closed his eyes, tuning into the ambient energy of this city.

His eyes did not even open, as he came to find that he was no longer alone. Instead, he remained composed as ever, as he addressed his fellow Ascian.

"Lahabrea."

The place was buzzing and loud, as Magitek the likes of which the White Raven had never seen, drove past on the roads. The buildings loomed tall overhead...If this was Garlemald, she has certainly changed drastically since he'd last been home - to the point where it had become completely alien and bizarre. It was almost as though he was out of his proper time period entirely. People weren't entirely sure what to make of the armored figure...and in all truth, the Garlean was hardly sure what to make of any of this.

It was, however, a bit of a special moment when he caught sight of someone who appeared to be clothed in garments of a style that were familiar. Eorzean, perhaps?

He slowly drew closer. There had to be some kind of explanation for this.

...If that did happen to be the caster garb that it seemed, however, he could only hope for refuge in audacity to keep him from being fireballed in the middle of the crowded streets.

(I'm hearing cackling from across the internets. Dis gonna b guud)

The loud buzzling noises and the roars of engines of an unfamiliar design were peculiar enough without the queer sight of Magitek that, as passing familiar she'd grown with the devices in her travels o'er the realms, left her perplexed. The strange stares she received from random passerbys due to her garb made her feel rather unnerved to the point of pondering if they thought it were a costume for All Saints Wake. How those of ancient Allag must feel to have their fashion choices critiqued so...

Though those thoughts would need to wait, for she would be blind not to notice that particular fashion of armour.

"I must say, to think it would pull more than simply my person..." The mage muttered under her breath, placing a hand to her chin. Mayhap she had miscalculated...? No, the spell had worked perfectly. "Ah-!"

Oh dear, he too had espied her presence. Naught but the crowd around them prevented her from drawing her rod from her back, but as it were... it was best to ware thee unknown. This realm, like its citizens, were just that.

This did prove to be a troubling position for an Emissary to be in. Unsure of his surroundings and seemingly without any means at all to even SENSE the Void, let alone connect with it. In spite of this, however, his innumerable years of existence allowed for Elidibus to remain perfectly calm in this entire situation. Surely, it would resolve itself, sooner or later. He had all of the time in the world..

A sharp ripple through the environment had managed to catch his attention, however. Palpable fear and panic rippled through the air, drawing his attention to a pair of mortals who appeared to be engaged in some form of combat. He stood there, enthralled at the scene, while countless bystanders fled past him. To anyone who did manage to take stock of his presence, it was almost as though he was completely oblivious to the people rushing past.

Not being able to sense the Void from which she derived her power was a rather peculiar setback if she ever did have one. Perhaps it was good that she had trained in the martial arts as well, especially now when sudden sounds that she could recognize as some sort of gunfire had gone off in the distance. Yet for all who were running away, she found herself running towards the screams of terror, pulling out her tome as she did so.

Yet the sight of a familiar white coat facing the same directions she was headed was something that filled her both with a sense of dread and the odd sense of relief that came with any sort of familiarity, even if it was an Ascian.

"I should hath known," she muttered under her breath. Asians were synonymous with chaos, after all. Though this particular instance definitely seemed... to be naught but human stupidity as both parties continued firing at one another.

5, 4, the magic of "Linkshells don't really distinguish"

Isaudorel was perfectly happy to be back in Mor Dhona for once. Sure, there was the overactive aether and the slowly-awakening and very bewildered lake murmuring occasionally, and voidspawn, and the world's most stubborn and set-upon Imperial base in existence...

But it wasn't frozen and whatever in the Hells was going on in Coerthas, with the environment honestly and actively out to kill anyone and in no mood to talk and the people not much better. It made him sometimes wish he had the convenient excuse of one of his frequent traveling companions. 'Oh, can't go, deserter and a heretic, have fun without me!'.

Of course it also meant turning his back on said dragoon for more than long enough for the man to disappear and probably get into something, and he was still thawing enough to not nearly be careful enough which linkpearl he was using. "Where in the Hells have you gotten to this time? If you've gotten into something where you're managing to get yourself injured, I am going to heal you, then add you to the list of people I apparently need to murder someday along with most of your kin."

[The Winter Soldier was a man on the run, which meant seeing a familiar face wasn't likely to be a good thing.

It had been out of the corner of his eye that he'd spotted the red-haired woman, and it wasn't much more than luck that he'd managed to recognize her face. He hadn't seen it in person yet, granted--a photograph of the targets he was meant to take out should he see them on the helicarriers, a face on the news arguing with government figures--but he was smart enough to put together the pieces, to tell that she was an ally of the captain's.

Given his last encounter with that man almost ended in Steve's death, however, that meant nothing. He could very well be her target now.

Unfortunately he spent a little too long watching her as he considered the situation, thinking he might have been more secure from being noticed thanks to his disheveled appearance, which included a hat, beard, and a very covered metal arm.]

[It all started with a rumor. Certain words spoken softly in certain circles. Of all the places for a mystic artifact of untold power to be hidden. Earth. Midgard. The mortal realm.

Of course, Loki had already figured out that Earth was the proverbial trash can of the universe and that every advanced race had dumped those things they "DO NOT WANT" on the small planet with an enormous population. Who knows what else would show up on this planet.

But Loki had every intention of liberating this one artifact. Which was why, he was standing outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing a black sleeveless dress with a forest green, floral patterned halter collar and overlay. He had styled his hair differently, not slicking it back, but letting it flow loosely around his shoulders. He had magicked the hair from his legs for the occasion. And he was wear black stilettos and had gold bangles around each wrist. A simple gold necklace with an emerald snake pendent hung about his neck.

Why sneak in and steal the artifact, when he could walk in with the rest of the museum's visitor's swap the artifact with an illusion and walk right back out and back to Asgard? At least, that's the plan today.]
